Thoughts, beliefs, feelings and perceptions all influence how people buy and how they relate to the goods and services that are being offered.  A fundamental aspect of human behaviour is arousal, retailers must aim to create a sensual experience through lighting, smells and sounds throughout the store, which attracts them to your products and entices them to buy. Retail on the high street and online is so competitive that retailers must constantly work at catching the attention of shoppers as they pass by and make subtle changes to appear 'different' or 'new' so their image does not become stale.
